When I first started writing rap songs, I hadn’t the slightest idea where to begin. So I turned the pen on myself and started writing about a missed experience from 2008… the moment that I knew I should be a rapper.
I received an invitation to open for Nas & Talib Kweli. Mind Blown.
The long and short of it is that the invitation came over MySpace. (Surely you remember MySpace?). Needless to say I thought it was a scam, and ignored it. Well, over the course of two weeks I got the feeling there may be some legitimacy to the offer so I reached out. Turns out, it was legit, but without word the venue had already booked the opener and I was no longer of interest…
But at least we got this song…
